Transforming your Course with LAs Faculty Workshop
The Learning Assistant Program at FIU is dedicated to supporting FIU faculty as they endeavor to design or re-design their courses to integrate active and collaborative activities that are supported by LAs. The Transforming your Course with LAs workshop is designed for faculty who are new to working with LAs, and those who are already working with LAs.
During this interactive workshop we will consider…
- aspects of productive student collaboration.
- characteristics of activities that support student collaboration.
- the role of LAs in supporting students’ sense making process.
- the role of the instructor in creating a learning environment that facilitates student collaboration and supports LAs’ efforts.
Also, Teaching Professor Milagros Delgado, PhD will share the process she used to transform her courses with LAs.
